Like many others during the pandemic, we got paranoid. Not about running out of toilet paper—but about what we were eating. We started looking at store-bought food with suspicion (yes, even that innocent-looking packet of pasta). Who made this? What’s in this? Why does it have the shelf life of a Nokia phone?

With a lot of time on our hands and nowhere to go, we decided to cook everything from scratch. One day, we made fresh pasta—and that was it. The first bite was a revelation. It was softer, richer, more... real. Store-bought pasta didn’t stand a chance.

And just like that, BenchFresh was born.
